I'm sure some people will argue against this, but an inexpensive digital camera does NOT mean a lesser quality. Cameras come in all sorts of prices and designs. I especially find that when it comes to a digital camera online and purchasing one that you can oftentimes find a much cheaper price than if you shopped offline. If you decide to purchase a digital camera it's always a better idea to look online. Not only are you going to find some of the cheapest digital camera products out there on the market, but you can also compare products, find accessories, and find guides on digital cameras.
If you don't know a lot about cameras and this is your first time buying one, the guides could essentially help you choose the best camera for your needs and your lifestyle. For example, if you simply want to buy a camera for use at parties and functions, you wouldn't necessarily want to buy something like a Canon 7D DSLR, instead you might want to buy something a little simpler like a Canon Power Shot SX200 IS and vice versa. Less functions in the Canon Power Shot SX200 IS, but also easier to understand and easier to work.
Whereas a Canon 7D would be superb for someone that has a little more knowledge in photography and wants to start really developing their forte in the photography industry. These cameras are top of the line. It doesn't necessarily matter how expensive the camera is, it more or less depends on the brand, in my experience anyway.
